Each year agencies who have a responsibility for promoting safety throughout the Bailiwick of Guernsey join together through the Child Accident Prevention Group to teach lessons that may one day save lives. We have sponsored the Safety Calling Activity Book 2011 and 2012 allowing every Year 6 child in the Bailiwick to receive a copy of this important book.  The aim is to reinforce and extend the key Safety Calling messages, thereby helping young people stay safe. The Guernsey Police, Fire and Rescue Service, St John Ambulance and Rescue Service, Royal Life Saving Society, Education Department and Health and Social Service Department distill their vital safety messages into stimulating and informative activity sessions and invite local schools to join them at the Safety Calling Event at Les Maingys Activity Centre.

As one of the Safety Calling supporters, I was invited to attend a VIP morning to see first hand what a great experience Safety Calling is for the children in our community. They were so enthusiastic as they actively participated in each lesson - asking questions, providing answers, role playing and moving from station to station.  This is a wonderful initiative to be a part of! - Annie Parks
